How TrueDx collects, uses, and protects your personal and health information.
When you submit a case for a second opinion, apply to join our pathologist network, or otherwise use TrueDx, we may collect:
We use the information we collect to arrange specimen retrieval, match your case to a subspecialty pathologist, prepare and deliver your second-opinion report, verify pathologist credentials, and communicate with you about your case or application. We do not use health information for advertising purposes.
We share information only as needed to provide the service: with the lab or hospital holding your original slides, with the pathologist assigned to your case, and with service providers who help us operate securely (for example, encrypted file storage). We do not sell personal or health information.
Health information is transmitted and stored using encryption in transit and at rest. Access is limited to personnel and pathologists directly involved in your case. No system is completely immune to risk, and we will notify affected individuals as required by law in the event of a breach involving their information.
You may request a copy of the information we hold about you, ask us to correct inaccurate information, or request deletion of your account information, subject to record-keeping obligations that apply to health data. To make a request, contact us using the details below.
We retain case information for as long as necessary to provide the second opinion, respond to any follow-up questions from you or your treating physician, and comply with applicable medical record retention laws, which vary by state.
