The terms that govern use of TrueDx's website and second-opinion service, for both patients and pathologists.
TrueDx arranges independent pathology second opinions by routing specimens and case information to board-certified subspecialty pathologists. TrueDx is not a hospital, and the second-opinion report we provide is intended to inform — not replace — the diagnosis and treatment plan of your treating physician.
By submitting a case, you authorize TrueDx to request your specimen, slides, or digital scans from the originating lab or hospital on your behalf, and to share relevant case details with the pathologist assigned to your review. You remain responsible for discussing the resulting report with your treating physician before making any treatment decision.
Physicians referring a patient for a TrueDx second opinion retain full responsibility for that patient's ongoing care and treatment decisions. TrueDx's report is a consultative second opinion, not a transfer of care.
Pathologists joining the TrueDx network must maintain an active, unrestricted medical license and applicable board certification at all times. TrueDx verifies license status before routing cases and may suspend access to the case queue if a license lapses, is restricted, or credentialing cannot be confirmed. Pathologists are independent contractors, not employees of TrueDx, and choose which available cases to accept.
Patients and referring physicians are charged a case fee disclosed before a case is submitted. Network pathologists are paid a per-case fee for completed reviews, disbursed on a weekly schedule, as set out in the pathologist agreement signed during onboarding.
TrueDx facilitates the connection between requesting parties and reviewing pathologists but does not itself render a medical diagnosis. Each second-opinion report reflects the independent clinical judgment of the reviewing pathologist.
We may update these terms from time to time. Material changes will be reflected on this page with an updated date at the top.
